SPS completed a detailed heritage refurbishment package at Balmain Town Hall & Library, bringing new life to the building while respecting its original craftsmanship and architectural details.

• Internal & External Paint Removal: Existing lead-based coatings were carefully removed from building surfaces, creating a clean foundation for restoration and new finishes.

• Traditional Timber Works: Original timber features and sash windows were repaired, prepared, and restored through skilled workmanship to retain their authentic appearance.

• Architectural Repairs: Render repairs, façade improvements, and decorative cast plaster restoration were completed to enhance the overall condition of the historic structure.

• Premium Heritage Finishes: Internal and external areas were repainted using Porter’s Mineral Paint, delivering a natural and traditional finish. Rooftop waterproofing works were also completed as part of the restoration package.

This project delivered a complete renewal of Balmain Town Hall & Library, combining specialist restoration techniques with quality finishes to highlight the building’s historical value.
